The government has arranged for the issuance of notifications on a weekly basis. Earlier in the day, Minister Harish Rao had directed to give notification for 1,326 posts eligible for MBBS within a day or two. In this regard, he held a review on June 6 (Monday) with senior officials of the Medical Board, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance.

In Telangana, 12,755 posts will be filled in the medical and health department. Of these, 10,028 posts will be filled by the Medical Health Services Recruitment Board. It was suggested that 1,326 posts in the medical education, public health department, TVVP and IPM departments should be replaced. Harish directed that a notification be drawn up following the SC, ST and BC reservations to avoid any legal dispute.

Medical and Health Secretary Rizvi said arrangements were being made to conduct the tests and notifications would be issued in installments within two to three weeks. The review was attended by Finance Secretary Shivshankar, DME Ramesh Reddy, Public Health Director Srinivas Rao, TVVP Commissioner Ajay Kumar, Health and Family Welfare Director Shweta Mahanti, AYUSH Commissioner Alugu Varshini and Medical Health Services Recruitment Board Secretary Gopikant Reddy.

Staff nurses should be selected on the basis of marks by conducting a written test in a multiple choice manner. 80 marks for written test and 20 marks for weightage given to those who worked during Covid period. The process of converting AYUSH doctors into teaching staff should be completed expeditiously and those vacancies should be filled. The AYUSH Service Rules should be amended.

The first notification included tutors and civil assistant surgeon posts. Those serving in these posts through outsourcing should be selected on the basis of 20% weightage marks and the remaining 80% marks on MBBS marks. After the first installment. Notifications should be issued immediately to the staff nurses and for the recruitment of other posts, ”Harish explained.
