The Union Cabinet has made significant decisions to boost educational infrastructure in the country, including the approval for the establishment of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas and 28 new Navodaya Vidyalayas across various states.

This expansion is expected to create approximately 6,700 job opportunities, with 5,388 positions in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and 1,316 positions in Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs). Recruitment for these positions will be done in phased manner and the notifications will be announced later

Budget and Timeline

The Cabinet has allocated ₹5,872 crore for this initiative, aiming to set up the schools within an 8-year timeframe.

Schools in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

• Andhra Pradesh: Eight new Kendriya Vidyalayas will be established in Anakapalli, Valasapalli, Palasamudram, Tallapalli, Nandigama, Rompicherla, Nuzividu, and Don.
• Telangana: Seven new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are approved for Jagtial, Nizamabad, Kothagudem, Medchal, Malkajgiri, Mahbubnagar, and Sangareddy, along with Suryapet.

Current Status

There are currently 1,256 Kendriya Vidyalayas operational in the country. With these additions, more students in remote and underserved regions will have access to high-quality education, and job aspirants will benefit from increased employment opportunities in the education sector.
