The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by NTA since December 2018 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode on behalf of UGC for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the eligibility of Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship or both, for Indian Universities.

The UGC – NET December 2023 was conducted for 83 subjects panning over 08 days in 15 shifts in 292 cities across the country for 9,45,872 candidates, as per the following schedule:
