The National Institute for Empowerment of persons with intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan) is registered society established in the year 1984 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.

The Institute is an apex body having tripartite function of training, research and service in the field of intellectual disability in the country. Since past 37 years, the institute has been making striking advances in building capacities to empower persons with intellectual disabilities.
