The central government has implemented the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Practices) Act, 2024, aimed at curbing paper leaks.
Amid nationwide controversies over NEET and UGC-NET paper leaks, the law was notified on the midnight of June 21. The Act, passed by Parliament in February, imposes stringent penalties for paper leaks, including three to ten years of imprisonment and fines up to ₹1 crore.
This law applies to UPSC, Staff Selection Commission, Railway, Banking exams, and all computer-based tests conducted by the National Testing Agency.
