Active and Passive Voice

When we want to tell about an action we can tell it in two ways.
  1. We place the subject(doer)in the beginning of the sentence followed by the verb and then the object. This is called Active voice.
    Eg: Vishwanath directed that movie.
  2. We place the action in the beginning followed by the doer. This is called passive voice.
Passive voice gives importance to the action.
Eg: That movie was directed by Vishwanath.
Situations where the passive voice is used
1. When we don't know the doer.
Eg: A businessman was murdered.
2. When the doer is understood.
Eg: The criminal was arrested.
3. When we want to give more importance to the action than the doer.
Eg: W.T.C was blasted.
