TSPSC 56,979 Vacancies: No notifications for the past 3months, aging threatens the candidates

Telangana Government officials and ministers often announce that they will recruit a large number of candidates for the state government jobs. Unemployed people are still worried about not receiving notifications.
Unemployed are looking forward for recruitment process to start. They have been waiting for years and are aware that they will have to wait another year. In fact, the Finance Ministry had announced four and a half months ago that it had started an exercise on the recruitment in the state. It finalized three months ago that there are around 57 thousands of job vacancies. A total of over 57,000 vacancies were identified with data collected from all government departments. At the same time, with the Centre's approval of the new zonal system in the state, the issue of recruitment occupied forefront.

For the division of posts
Based on the new zonal policy, the Finance Ministry has focused on resolving issues such as division of posts at district, zonal, multi-zonal and state levels and distribution among new districts. The latest figures show that there are over 67,000 government job vacancies in the state. The details of these vacancies have to be approved by the state cabinet. After that, guidelines will be formulated and notifications will be issued. But the government has not taken any steps in this direction. Millions of unemployed are worried about the notificati.ons

Not a single notification for the past three and a half years
The recruitment process in government departments has stalled for the past three-and-a-half years in the wake of the new zonal policy. The process of some of the notifications issued earlier has only continued. No new notifications have been released. However, the announcement made by CM KCR during the recent MLC elections that the government will take steps to recruit 50,000 government jobs has raised hopes among the unemployed.

With orders of the CM, the officers started the exercise in a hurry. Various departments of the government have compiled a list of vacancies by department- wise. It is reported to the government that there are 56,979 direct recruitment vacancies across. Out of this, 44,022 jobs were in government departments. There were 12,957 jobs in societies and corporations. At the same time, the Center approved amendments to the new zonal policy. With this new policy, job vacancies and requirements have been calculated again without any loss to any district or zone. According to the Finance Ministry, more than 67,000 jobs will have to be replaced.

Even if the obstacles were removed
All obstacles to the recruitment of government jobs in the state have been removed. Experts say there should be clarity on service-related issues in terms of employee transfers and promotions, but there are no issues with new hires. The state previously had District Level Appointments Committees (DSCs). The government has decided to abolish them and recruit almost all types of jobs through the Public Service Commission or other recruitment boards. As a part of this, appointments are being made through the State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), Telangana Gurukul Educational Institutions Recruitment Board (TREIRB), Telangana State Police Recruitment Board (TSPRB), Telangana State Medical Recruitment Board (TSMRB).

The government gives powers to the various government departments based on the number of posts and the need for appointments. In this context, the Panchayati Raj Department has specially replaced the posts of Junior Panchayat Secretary. The unions point out that, vacancies in various government departments can now be filled similarly. Societies, on the other hand, say that there are service regulations barring the recruitment of 12,957 posts under corporations.

Of the 67,000 vacancies identified by the government, there are no teacher posts. Government sources say the number of vacancies is unlikely to rise unless the rationalization of teachers and schools is completed. This means that there is no possibility recruitment of teacher posts right now.

Cadre Strength Finalized
Under the new zonal policy, the division of labor has almost completed. The state government has issued departmental orders in this regard. Guidelines are yet to be released. The division process will be completed if cadre wise district, zonal and multi-zonal employees are given options and conduct counseling. On the other hand, the division of posts in various societies and corporations, which are public sector entities, has not yet taken place. The government has to issue orders in this regard.

Crossing the age limit
The maximum age limit for government employment is 44 years. There are several relaxations for candidates to whom reservations apply. Unemployed are worried that the age is increasing and it would be a problem due to non-issuance of notifications by the government. As on June 2017, 24,62,032 people were registered under One Time Registration (OTR) on the website of the State Public Service Commission. Of these, 14,71,205 were males and 9,90,827 were females. There are 40,994 people over the age of 40 at the time of registration right now.
