Check GATE 2023 Exam Pattern and Types of Questions
Last year, more than seven lakh people appeared for GATE across the country. It is known that the PSUs also recruit based on GATE score. One should know better about the exam pattern and types of questions to excel in the exam.

In the last few years, GATE score is not only for admission into M.Tech courses in IITs and other top engineering colleges, but also for jobs like Graduate Engineer Trainee or Executive Trainee in Public Sector Undertakings (PSU). Experts say that the candidates should study extensively to get a better score in the GATE.

GATE-2023 exam pattern is as follows..
➤ The GATE-2023 exam will be conducted in online mode of three hours duration.
➤ Total 65 questions will be asked in both sections for 100 marks.
➤ Part-1 consists of questions from General Aptitude. 15 marks will be allotted for this section. There will be five one mark questions and five two mark questions.
➤ 13 marks for Engineering Mathematics.
➤ Candidates will have to attempt Part – B with the subject of their choice. Questions for 72 marks will be asked in this section.

There are three types of questions:
☛ There are three types of questions asked in the GATE exam. They are.. Multiple Choice Quotations (MCQ), Multiple Select Quotations, Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
☛ In MCQ method, one of the four or five options has to be marked as the answer.
☛ In Multiple Select Quotations, questions are asked that have more than one option as the answer. To answer such questions, one should have a complete understanding of the related topic.
☛ Numerical answer type questions involve some calculations.
