The fees paid by the eligible candidates for admissions will be refunded soon. A decision to this effect was taken in the 16th Senate meeting held in NIT recently. Absence of faculty on permanent basis for MBA course, internal problems, ambiguity in policy decisions and lack of operational opportunities seems to be the reason for cancelling the admissions. Information regarding cancellation of admissions was placed on the institute's website on July 12. In-charge Registrar Dinesh P. Shankar Reddy confirmed that MBA admissions are not open for 2022-23.

Troubles from the beginning
It has been announced in 2021 that a new MBA course with 60 seats will be started along with B.Tech, M.Tech, PhD, MS by Research in NIT. A notification has been issued stating that MBA will be started under the School of Humanities and Management at NIT for 2022-23 and candidates eligible for 60 seats can apply online. The deadline for applications was 31 January 2022. Due to lack of expected response, the deadline was extended till February 28. Applications received to that extent were shortlisted. In March, 39 people were qualified for this course and the details of applications with IDs have been uploaded on the website.
