282 Teachers to be recruited in AP Model Schools!
Filling of vacant teacher posts in AP model schools!
The state government has approved the proposals of the Andhra Pradesh School Education Department. There is a shortage of subject teachers for students studying up to Inter in model schools. Of these, 211 are Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) and 71 are Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs). The school education department will issue a notification regarding this in a day or two. Merit candidates will be selected for these posts on the basis of qualifications and experience prescribed by the Government. Part-time teachers already serving as guest faculty in model schools will be given first priority in filling the posts.

Increased demand for seats
Model schools were set up in 2009 by a central government scheme. While 355 schools were set up in joint Andhra Pradesh, 164 schools were allotted to AP after partition. Of these, a total of 91,520 seats are available, of which 65,600 are for secondary education and 25,920 for inter-education. Inter-teaching continues with MPC, BPC, MEC, CEC groups. Enrollment in these schools was low in the beginning but now the demand for seats has increased. The posts of Principal, PGT and TGT have been recruited to some extent by the DSC. There are still 565 posts to be recruited. Of these, 282 posts will be filled now.

Zone - 2: TGT-4
Zone - 3 (73): PGT-50 and TGT-23
Zone - 4 (155): PGT-124 and TGT 31
Total (282): PGT -211 and TGT 71
