Indian Navy SSC Officer Selection Process:

The Indian Navy uses a multi-stage process to select candidates for officer positions. Here's a breakdown of the key steps:

1. Application Shortlisting:

  • Applications are shortlisted based on normalized marks obtained in your qualifying degree.
  • The Navy website (https://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in/files/normalisation.pdf) explains the normalization formula.

2. Qualifying Degree Requirements:

  • BE/B.Tech. Candidates:
  • If you're completing or in your final year, marks up to the fifth semester will be used for shortlisting.

Postgraduate Degree Candidates:

  • Completed degrees (MSc, MCA, MBA, M.Tech) require marks from all semesters for consideration.
  • If you're in the final year, your pre-final year performance determines shortlisting.

3. Verification of Qualifying Degree:

  • Shortlisted candidates must submit proof of completing their qualifying degree with at least 60% marks.
  • This proof needs to be emailed to officer@navy.gov.in. Failure to meet this requirement disqualifies you.

4. SSB Interview Notification:

  • Selected candidates will be informed via email or SMS (provided in your application) about their SSB interview.
  • Maintain your email and phone number throughout the selection process. Regularly check your inbox and spam folder.

5. SSB Interview:

  • You cannot request a change in the assigned SSB interview center.
  • If your interview dates need adjustment, contact the call-up officer at the assigned SSB center after receiving your call-up letter.
  • Download the call-up letter upon receiving notification from Naval Headquarters
