  • In Wimbledon Tennis, World number one Carlos Alcaraz ended Novak Djokovic's long reign at the All England Club to win his first Wimbledon 2023 title and his second Grand Slam title with a 1-6 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 victory in the final at the Centre Court in London last night. The twenty-year-old Spaniard beat the seven-time champion to become the youngest man to lift the Challenge Cup since 18-year-old Boris Becker won the second of his three Wimbledon titles in 1986. The Spanish sensation won his second major title, having triumphed at the 2022 US Open.

  • Djokovic lauded his opponent, Carols Alcaraz and his team, and said that he 'lost to a better player' after missing out on his eighth Wimbledon title. While addressing his loss, Djokovic said that he would still be 'grateful' even though he doesn't like to lose such important matches.
