Indo-American Nabeela Syed created history by becoming the youngest person to be elected to the Illinois State General Assembly.
The 23-year-old Indo-American defeated Republican opponent Chris Bass. She contested from the 51st district of the state of Illinois and got 52.3 percent of the total votes. She shared her happiness on social media.
Nabeela Syed, who is of Indian origin, completed her graduation in Political Science and Business Administration from Berkeley California University. Along with working in many NGOs, she is fighting for women's rights and on behalf of rape victims.
