Veteran Singer-Composer Bappi Lahiri passes away

Music composer and singer BappiLahiri passed away at a Mumbai hospital. He was 69.
Mr BappiLahiri has tested positive for Covid 19.
Bappi Lahiri is known for delivering popular songs in several films of the late 1970s-80s like Chalte Chalte, Disco Dancer, and Sharaabi. His last Bollywood song titled Bhankas was for the 2020 film Baaghi 3.
The singer-composer is survived by his wife Chitrani Lahiri and his daughter and singer Rema Lahiri Bansal.
Lahiri was primarily known for his contribution in popularising the sound of disco music in India. Known for his success with Bengali films like Amar Prem, Mandira, Badnam, AamarTumi among others, Lahiri also contributed significantly to the soundtrack of Bollywood movies in the 80s and 90s.
