  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level meeting in New Delhi yesterday, March 14 to review the progress in the construction of various infrastructure projects on the northern border areas.
  • During the meeting, he called for expediting all pending projects on top priority. Mr. Singh said that the whole of nation approach should be adopted in matters of national security.
  • The government has decided to set up a committee of Secretaries that will meet at frequent intervals to fast-track the pending projects. Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Power Minister R K Singh, Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh among other attended the meeting.
