IMF satisfied with financial reform initiatives of Bangladesh

- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that it is satisfied with the basic financial reform initiatives taken by the government of Bangladesh and its central bank to offset the current situation in the country.
- The visiting IMF Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Monsio Sayeh held a meeting with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in Dhaka.
- The IMF DMD and the Bangladesh Finance Minister discussed details of the recent trend of the global economy along with the current economic situation of Bangladesh. They also discussed the possible steps in the wake of global high inflationary trend, increase in interest rate and Russia-Ukraine crisis. The need to continue with the basic reform initiatives taken by the government.
