Asian shares end down as inflation data from US worried investors globally

- Most Asian shares today ended down except Singapore's Strait Times, as the inflation data from the US worried investors globally and fuelled the expectations of aggressive Fed rate hikes.
- Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 1.3 percent while South Korea’s KOSPI declined one percent. China’s Shanghai Composite lost 0.8 percent, and Japan's NIKKEI-225 slipped 0.7 percent.
- On the other hand, Singapore’s Straits Times gained half a percent.
- European shares were down in intra-day trade. Germany's DAX fell 0.9 percent and France's CAC slipped 0.7 percent. London's FTSE-100 was trading 0.2 percent down when reports last came in.
