Wimbledon: Novak Djokovic, Matteo Berrettini, Denis Shapovalov and Hubert Hurkacz storm into Semi-finals
Poland’s Hurkacz stunned 20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer by registering straight sets victory 6-3, 7-6, 6-0 to play Berrettini for a place in Sunday’s final. Berrettini became only the second Italian man to reach the semi-finals after beating 16th seed Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, 6-3.
Earlier, Serbia’s Djokovic entered the Semi finals beating unseeded Marton Fucsovics of Hungary in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 to play against Shapovalov in the semi finals.
Canadian Shapovalov defeated Russian 25th seed Karen Khachanov in a thrilling five sets 6-4, 3-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4.
Meanwhile, mixed doubles Indian pair Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna crashed out of the tournament after losing to Andreja Klepac and Jean-Julien Rojer 3-6, 6-3, 9-11 in the Round of 16.
Semi-finals line up is complete for Women Singles. Australian World Number One Ashleigh Barty will take on 2018 winner Angelique Kerber of Germany in the last four. Second seed Aryna Sabalenka set up a semi-final clash with eighth seed Karolina Pliskova.
