The school children from Aspirational Districts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu visited an educational tour where they will visit the India Government Mint in Noida and later in the day attend a session on Financial Literacy.

The school children from Aspirational Districts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu visit the India Government Mint in Noida, one of the four mints in the country. Shri S. P. Varma - Chief General Manager, Indian Government Mint – Noida, is also present on the occasion.

During the visit, the students were apprised of the process of production and characteristics of different kinds of coins which are in circulation in India.

The Mint started production on 1 July 1988 and is the only India Government Mint established since the country achieved independence in 1947. Since January 13, 2006, India Government Mint at Noida has been a part of Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India Limited.

On final day of their educational tour to New Delhi, students from AspirationalDistricts of Andhra Pradesh & Tamil Nadu attend a session organised by Indian Bank on financial literacy, including topics like Jan Dhan Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, education loans, etc.

During the session, the children were given lessons on inculcating habit of savings and were also encouraged to acquire various financial skills, including personal financial management, budgeting, and investing.

Hon'ble Prime Minister gave his time to the students of 3 aspirational districts of AP namely Visakhapatnam, Vijayanagaram & Kadapa and instilled new enthusiasm in them.
