A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of 10th, 12th class board examinations conducted offline by boards including CBSE, CISCE and NIOS this year. The bench headed by Justice MA Khanwilkar, which heard the petition on February 23 (Wednesday), made key remarks. The tribunal stated that it was dismissing the petition. It made clear that it not only creates false hopes but also creates confusion among the students who are preparing for the exams. The tribunal stated that students and officers should be allowed to perform their duties. The tribunal strongly commented that such petitions would cause misconception and confusion among the students.

CBSE has decided to conduct Term-2 board exams for Classes 10 and 12 from April 26. CISCE will also conduct board exams in the last week of April while board exams in some states will start from March 4.
