400 New MBBS Seats: Telangana MBBS Admissions 2024
The Central Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued letters of approval to the principals of the newly approved medical colleges in
- Yadadri Bhuvanagiri,
- Maheshwaram,
- Quthbullapur, and
- Medak.

The state government had initially applied for eight new medical colleges this year. While four of them were approved in the previous month, the remaining four have now also received clearance. Earlier, the newly approved medical colleges are in Mulugu, Narsampet, Gadwal, and Narayanpet. Admissions for MBBS in these colleges are expected to begin this year, according to Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha.
During inspections, NMC officials had initially expressed concerns about the lack of necessary facilities at some of the colleges. However, the state government promptly allocated new funds to address these shortcomings. The government's efforts to comply with the NMC's suggestions were instrumental in securing approval for the remaining four colleges.
Total MBBS Seats in Telangana:
With the addition of these eight colleges, the total number of MBBS seats in government medical colleges across Telangana has increased to 4090.
