Telangana: Private Degree and PG Colleges Go on Strike!

Hyderabad, Sakshi: Starting today, private degree and PG colleges across Telangana have been shut down, as announced by the college managements.

They claim that they are unable to continue operating the colleges under the current conditions and have been forced to close them. The managements are demanding the immediate release of pending funds from the government.

Pending dues of ₹120 crores

In Nalgonda district, the managements have closed all degree and PG colleges and have initiated an indefinite strike. They stated that there are pending dues of ₹120 crores in the combined Nalgonda district.

The college association is calling for the release of fee reimbursement arrears and has begun a statewide strike starting today. The managements claim that pending fee reimbursements have amounted to ₹2400 crores over the past three years, and they are now staging protests across the state.
