VOCABULARY... Set 2

bonanza -(బొనంజా) అదృష్ట…  windfall, jackpot, unexpected money or a benefit. Eg. The pay revision was a bonanza for the NGOs, as more than expected was given.
  nexus - A connection between persons, institutions etc. It originated from the Latin word nectere, meaning "to bind or tie." But some people use this word for an 'unholy connection for a crime'.

embargo -నిషేధ
ఆంక్షలుtrade restrictions, sanctions (American expression) America does this on middle-east countries and some countries like North Korea, China to create economic problems to that particular country. Eg. US threatened Turkey to impose an embargo if it creates problems for Syrian Kurds.

mayhem - (మేహం) దారుణమైన అలజడి 
(హింసాకాండ)Complete disorder. anarchy, free for all
 Eg. With 30 kids running around and only two adults to control, there was complete mayhem. 

 nepotism -బంధు
ప్రీతిAn act of showing preference or favour in jobs, contracts etc., to one's own relations unfairly. Also used when someone shows favour to his own caste people. Eg. He was very notorious for nepotism.

 The word nepotism comes from the Italian word for nephew, nepote. Apparently, back in the 17th century a lot of people, mostly popes or bishops tended to promote their nephews (Who were in many cases, their illegitimate sons.)  to key positions in the Court at the expense of other candidates.
