ETYMOLOGY (పదాల పుట్టుక)

It means, how a word has taken birth, changed its meaning during the course of time.
 sandwich
It was named after John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, an eighteenth-century English సంపన్నుడు.It is said that he ordered his valet to bring him meat tucked between two pieces of bread, and others began to order the same as Sandwich!

 Hooligan (రౌడీ)
The word "hooligan'' first appeared in London police- court reports in 1894 for the name of a gang in the Lambeth area-the Hooligan Boys. In August 1898, a member of the Hooligan gang murdered a person and "Hooligan'' became popular in London press. Hooliganism is now predominantly less related to sport. It is equivalent to 'rowdy' which means noisy and possibly violent person.

 Boycott(బహిష్కరించు)
A boycott is an act of voluntary and intentional abstention from using, buying, or dealing with a person, organization, or country as an expression of protest for any reason.
The word boycott entered the English language during the "Land War".
