NTA UGC NET June 2024 Exam Pattern

Exam Mode: OMR Based

Test Structure: Two Papers (no break between papers)

• Paper I (100 marks, 50 questions): This paper assesses your teaching and research aptitude through questions on reasoning, comprehension, critical thinking, and general awareness. (3 hours duration)
• Paper II (200 marks, 100 questions): This paper focuses on your subject knowledge based on the subject you choose.

Subject Selection and Syllabus:

• A list of available subjects with their codes is provided in Appendix II of the official information bulletin.
• Download the syllabus for your chosen subject from the UGC website (https://www.ugcnetonline.in/syllabus-new.php).

Question Paper Language:

• English and Hindi are the only languages available for the question paper, except for language subjects.
• Choose your preferred language carefully while filling out the online application form. This choice cannot be changed later.

Marking Scheme:

• Each question carries 2 marks.
• You get 2 marks for each correct answer.
• There's no penalty for incorrect answers.
• Unanswered or marked-for-review questions get no marks.
• Choose only one option as your answer.
• If a question has multiple correct answers or is found to be incorrect, only those who attempted it and chose a correct answer will be awarded marks.
• If a question is dropped due to errors, all candidates who attempted it will be awarded 2 marks
