DASA Scheme 2024: Comprehensive Guide to UG & PG Admissions & Eligibility

The Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) Scheme 2024 is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to provide opportunities for international students, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) to gain admission to top-tier engineering institutions in India.
Academic Eligibility for DASA Scheme 2024
UG: Candidates must have completed 12th grade (or equivalent) with Mathematics, Physics, and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or Biology. A minimum of 75% marks or a CGPA of 7.5/10 is required.
PG (M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan./M.Des./MURP):
- Qualifying Examination: Applicants must have completed a four or five-year undergraduate program in Engineering/Technology or an equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Equivalent Recognitions: Degrees must be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), or other statutory bodies.
- Minimum Marks: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks or a 6.00 CGPA on a 10-point scale is required. In cases where CGPA is awarded on a different scale, only the equivalence provided by the principal examination authorities will be considered
MBA Program:
- Qualifying Examination: Applicants must have an appropriate undergraduate degree from any stream of education recognized by AIU, UGC, AICTE, or other statutory bodies.
- Minimum Marks: Same criteria as for undergraduate programs.
DASA Scheme 2024 - Selection Criteria:
For UG courses, seat allotment is based on JEE Main rank and the choices given by the applicant. For PG courses, it is based on valid GRE/GMAT scores and the choices indicated by the applicant.
DASA Scheme 2024 - Application Process:
Registration:
- Visit the official DASA website: dasanit.org.
- Click on the “Apply Now” or “Registration” link.
- Create a new account by providing your basic details such as name, email, and contact number. Verify your email to complete the registration.
Filling Out the Application Form:
- Log in using your registered email and password.
- Fill in the application form with your personal details, educational qualifications, and the choice of courses and institutions.
- Upload scanned copies of the required documents (e.g., passport, academic certificates, JEE Main scorecard for UG courses, GRE/GMAT scorecard for PG courses).
Payment of Application Fee:
- Pay the application fee through SWIFT, E-Payment, NEFT, or RTGS transfer.
- The fee details and payment instructions will be provided on the portal. Ensure to follow the guidelines for international transactions if applicable.
Submission of Application:
- Review your application thoroughly to ensure all details are correctly entered.
- Submit the application form online before the deadline.
Seat Allotment:
- For UG courses: Seat allotment is based on JEE Main rank and the choices provided by the applicant.
- For PG courses: Seat allotment is based on valid GRE/GMAT scores and the choices indicated by the applicant
Acceptance of Seat:
- Once the seat allotment is done, you will receive a confirmation email with further instructions.
- Accept the seat and complete the formalities as per the guidelines provided in the email.
