CBSE 10th, 12th Board Exams 2026: 75% Attendance Now Mandatory

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made it mandatory for all Class 10 and Class 12 students to maintain at least 75% attendance during the academic year 2025–26 in order to appear for the 2026 board examinations.
The board observed that many students skip regular classes and enroll in coaching centres instead, treating school attendance lightly. To bring back seriousness and discipline in academics, CBSE has decided to enforce the 75% attendance rule strictly.
Important Deadlines
- Attendance will be counted up to January 1, 2026
- Schools must send shortage cases to CBSE by January 7, 2026
- Any late submission will be rejected by the board

CBSE has made it clear: Attendance is not optional. The 75% rule is now a non-negotiable requirement for board exam eligibility. Students are advised to attend school regularly, and parents must stay actively involved to avoid any last-minute issues.
