Out of 230, 50 seats were sanctioned in Gandhi and Kakatiya Medical Colleges, 20 seats each in Adilabad RIMS and Nizamabad Government Medical Colleges, 25 seats each in Mahabubnagar and Siddipet Medical Colleges and 13 seats in ESI Medical Colleges, Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University said. Of these, only 102 seats will be filled by those eligible under the EWS quota, while the remaining 101 seats will be allotted to 30 SC students, 59 BC and 12 ST students, the university said. According to the regulations, the number of seats to be filled in the EWS quota will have to be allocated to the remaining reservations. With that in mind, the state has been allotted EWS seats, the sources said.
230 seats in All India quota.
There are 1,285 convener quota seats in government medical colleges in the state, of which 15 per cent seats, or about 230 seats, will be allotted to the all-India quota. Of this, 30 seats were allotted in Gandhi and Kakatiya Medical Colleges, 37 seats in Osmania, 15 seats in RIMS Adilabad and Nizamabad Government Medical College and ESI College, 22 seats each in Mahabubnagar, Siddipet, Nallagonda and Suryapeta Government Medical Colleges. These MBBS seats will be filled during All India Counseling. Students from across the country compete for these. These seats will be filled in two phases of counseling. If seats remain, however, they will be offered a chance to be replaced at counseling in the state. However, the state-wise ranks have not been announced yet. Officials say a list of eligible students from the state will soon come from the National Testing Agency (NTA), after which the state-level ranks will be announced.
