Research Associate I

Qualifications: i) A Doctorate degree from a recognised University in Meteorology/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Physical Oceanography or related sciences with Meteorology/ Oceanography as main subject. ii) Experience in using regional ocean models such as the MIT GCM, ROMS. Exposure to applications to ocean biogeochemistry/estuarine dynamics will be an advantage. iii) Should be able to port the regional model onto the HPC and conduct experiments. iv) Well acquainted in computer programming in Fortran, C, shell programming, etc., and experience on Linux/UNIX platforms. v) Publications in standard peer-reviewed journals related to atmospheric/oceanic/climate sciences. vi) Knowledge of Ocean circulation in the NIO, and the relevance of monsoon. vii) Demonstrated skill in data analysis using GrADS/ Ferret/ NCL/ CDO/ MATLAB.
