Research Associate I

UOH Recruitment 2023, Research Associate I - Qualifications:

• A Doctorate degree from a recognized University in Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences/ Physical Oceanography or related sciences with Meteorology/Oceanography as main subject.
• Demonstrable experience in using regional Ocean models such as ROMS. Exposure to applications to ocean biogeochemistry/estuarine dynamics will be an advantage.
• Should be able to port the regional model onto the HPC and conduct experiments
• Well acquainted in computer programming in Fortran, C, shell programming, etc, and experience on Linux/UNIX platforms.
• Publications in standard peer-reviewed journals related to atmospheric/oceanic/climate sciences.
• Knowledge of Ocean circulation in the north Indian Ocean, and relevance of monsoon
• Demonstrated skill in data analysis using GrADS/Ferret/NCL/CDO/MATLAB
