Question
Which institutes offer integrated courses in B. Tech?
A dual degree course is where you get two degree at the end of the course. The two degrees can be offered by two different institutes (for instance, M. Tech + MS where one degree is offered by Indian institute and one by a foreign institute) or by the same institute. Sometimes the two degrees can be of two different streams (B. Tech + MBA). And in some cases, the two degrees are of two different levels (PG Diploma+ Master’s).
In an integrated course, the curriculum of two courses is combined. Usually, in this kind of courses, you can save some amount of academic period. For instance B. Tech followed by M. Tech spans six years. But if it is an integrated course, you finish it in five years.
In India, we have dual degree courses, integrated courses and also a combination of them. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad offers five-year Integrated Dual degree programmes, B. Tech + M. Tech and B. Tech + MBA. The eligibility criterion is +2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
