Chennai, April 30, 2024: In a pioneering initiative, IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has joined forces with Rotary District 3232 and FISST Academy to equip government and private school students with essential cybersecurity knowledge.

Empowering Young Minds for a Safer Digital World

This program targets students in grades 9 and 11, aiming to foster a secure digital environment for the next generation. The first batch of 100 students commenced training on March 30th at IIT Madras, with subsequent batches planned over ten Saturdays, reaching a total of 1,000 students.

A Collaborative Effort for a Pressing Need

This collaboration leverages Rotary's dedication to education and community service alongside IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation's expertise in technology and cybersecurity. As our reliance on digital platforms grows, cybersecurity education becomes increasingly crucial for young people.

Building Digital Resilience Through Training

The program equips students with foundational cybersecurity knowledge through interactive sessions, workshops, and hands-on activities led by experienced professionals.  Participants will gain practical skills to identify and mitigate cyber risks, fostering a safer online experience.

Key Areas of Focus

Enhanced Cybersecurity Awareness: Students will learn to recognize and respond effectively to cyber threats.
Safe Internet Practices: The program will educate students on secure online behavior and personal information protection.
Data Privacy Protection: Understanding and implementing practices to safeguard sensitive data and prioritize privacy online will be emphasized.
Promoting Digital Hygiene: The program will encourage good habits like regular software updates and strong passwords to minimize cyber threats.
