Neeraj Chopra Olympics: The man with Golden arm 2022

Subedar Neeraj Chopra PVSM VSM, the reigning Olympic champion in the javelin throw, is an Indian track and field athlete. Chopra joined the Indian Army as a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and Naib Subedar in 2016, serving in the 4 Rajputana Rifles, one of the Army’s oldest rifle units. JCOs acquire the rank of Naib Subedar after 20 years of service.
Neeraj Chopra, became the country’s first Olympic gold medalist in track and field on August 7, 2021.
In his second attempt, he threw 87.58 metres to win the gold medal for India in the Tokyo Olympic Games.
After Abhinav Bindra, he is the second Indian to win a gold medal in an individual event.
