Union WCD Minister Launches ‘Anganwadi Protocol for Divyang Children

• The Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, recently launched the Anganwadi Protocol Divyang Children in a national outreach program at Vigyan Bhawan on November 28, 2023. The event aimed to strengthen the overall well-being of Divyang children and was attended by key officials, experts and stakeholders from various ministers and organizations.
• Aligned with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a Swasth Suposhit Bharat, the Anganwadi Protocol for Divyang Children embodies a Social Model for inclusive care under the POSHAN Abhiyan. The protocol consists of three key steps:

1. Screening for early disability signs
2. Inclusion in community events and empowering families
3. Referral support via ASHA/ANM & Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) teams
