LS gives nod to First Batch of Grants for Supplementary Demands for 2023-24 and Demands for Excess Grants for 2020-21
  • The Lok Sabha today gave its nod to the First Batch of Grants for Supplementary Demands for 2023-24 and Demands for Excess Grants for 2020-21.
  • The various measures taken by the government to boost the economy and to reduce fiscal deficit while taking steps for the welfare of poor people.
  • Out of a total of Rs1,29,000 crore rupees supplementary demands for 2023-24, MNREGA scheme will receive Rs20,000 crore rupees. With this supplementary grant, the total allocation for the current fiscal will be 80 thousand crore rupees.
  • The steps taken to give nutrient-based subsidy to the farmers saying that Rs16,300 crore rupees will be allocated for fertilizer subsidy. The government has also decided to infuse over 11 thousand crore rupees of capital to revive the government telecom company BSNL. Rs8,500 crore rupees have been allocated for the Ujjawala scheme and Rs5,500 crore rupees have been earmarked for the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana under the supplementary grants.
