Government hikes MSP for Copra, aimed at doubling farmers' income by 2022

The Union Cabinet has given its approval for the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for Copra for 2022 season.
Briefing media, Information, and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said, the MSP for Fair Average Quality of milling Copra has been increased to 10 thousand 590 rupees per quintal while MSP for ball Copra has been increased to 11 thousand per quintal for 2022 season.
The decision is based on recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices. It assures a minimum of 50 percent as a margin of profit as one of the important and progressive steps towards making possible doubling of farmers' incomes by 2022.
