DoSEL Meets with Indonesian Delegation to Discuss PM Poshan Scheme

India's Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) recently hosted a meeting with a delegation from Indonesia led by H.E. Mochammad Firman Hidayat, Deputy Coordinating Minister for Maritime Resources. The focus of the discussion was the PM Poshan Scheme, a flagship program providing hot cooked meals to students in government and government-aided schools across India.

Sharing Knowledge and Expertise:

DoSEL Secretary Shri Sanjay Kumar led the Indian delegation. He provided a comprehensive overview of the PM Poshan Scheme, highlighting its objectives and the scale of its operation.
Additional Secretary Shri Anandrao V. Patil presented a detailed report on the program, including its goals, provisions, components, and best practices. He also covered aspects like capacity building, community participation, and monitoring & evaluation procedures.
Indonesia Seeks Guidance:

The Indonesian delegation expressed interest in implementing a similar program in their own country.  Shri Kumar and Shri Patil's insights likely proved invaluable in providing them with a clear understanding of how India has successfully implemented such a large-scale initiative.

Collaboration for Improved School Meals:

This meeting signifies potential collaboration between India and Indonesia on the crucial topic of school meals. By sharing knowledge and best practices, both countries can work towards ensuring better nutrition for their school children.
