Christmas is being celebrated across the globe on Dec 25th. Christians all over the world celebrate Christmas to mark the birth of Jesus Christ. On the occasion, people decorate their houses by putting a Christmas tree, illuminated paper star, Holly wreaths and exchange gifts.

President Ram NathKovind and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu have extended their greetings to nation on the occasion of Christmas. President Kovind said, Jesus Christ’s message of love and compassion continues to inspire the entire humanity even.
He added, let us resolve to build such a society that is based on the values of justice and liberty by adopting the ideals and teachings of Jesus Christ in our lives.
Vice President Naidu said, Christmas is a festival that reaffirms our faith in the values of love, compassion and forgiveness. Mr. Naidu added, as we celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus, let us cherish the values he symbolized.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted people on Christmas. In a tweet, Mr. Modi said, we recall the life and noble teachings of Jesus Christ, which placed topmost emphasis on service, kindness and humility. He hoped that everyone will be healthy and prosperous. He also hoped that there will be harmony all around.
Midnight masses accompanied by pealing of church bells and fireworks ushered in Christmas in Goa. A rare festive mood and enthusiasm is spread across Goa. In local Konkani language Christmas is known as Naatlaa.
Cribs depicting the birth of Jesus have been installed in many places giving a beautiful look. Christmas stars installed in some cities have turned out to be a center of attraction for locals and tourists as well.
Carols sung by various groups provide an incredible color to festivities. Local and foreign tourists as well, have arrived in Goa and the programmes will continue till newyear celebrations. Covid guidelines are strictly followed and elaborate security arrangement and vigil is kept at coastal villages.
Midnight mass and special prayers marked the Christmas celebrations in various churches across Kerala. Midnight bells and carols reverberating the praise of Lord Jesus ushered in the spirit of Christmas in the state. Cribs with figurines depicting Nativity of Jesus Christ were placed in churches.
In Kochi, Major Archbishop of the Syro Malabar Church, Cardinal Mar George Alancherry led the prayers at Mount St Thomas.
Similar celebrations were held in churches belonging to various other Christian denominations.
In Mizoram, religious fervor of Christmas has gripped every nook and corner. People are celebrating Christmas with pomp and gaiety, exchanging greetings and wishes. This time, social media platforms are hugely flooded with Christmas greetings. On the occasion of Christmas, all markets and streets wear a new look with illumination and decoration.
Church elders, however, said that people will celebrate Christmas this time in a restrictive manner so as to follow Covid-19 health guidelines, issued by the state government. So, many aspects of the festivities will not take place. In a message to people on the eve of Christmas, Rev.
Dr. VanlalnghakaRalte of Mizoram Presbyterian Synod said Christmas is the occasion of Joy, Love and Peace. Extending greetings to all people on this auspicious occasion, he appealed to all to celebrate Christmas while following health guidelines.
