President Xi stated that China and Russia firmly support each other on crucial issues and safeguard their national dignity and national interests, reports from Chinese and Russian state media said. The Chinese President noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation and the two sides have decided to extend the treaty for another five years. He said that China and Russia should take the opportunities brought by the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation and expedite industrial cooperation on cutting-edge technologies.

Speaking of the trade between the two countries, President Xi hailed tremendous political strengths and huge potential as trade between China and Russia in the first three quarters of 2021 has topped 100 billion dollars for the first time.
