Government clarifies no planning to introduce cryptocurrency regulated by RBI

The Government today clarified that there is no planning to introduce a cryptocurrency that will be regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. Earlier in the budget, FM Nirmala Sitharaman said that India’s cryptocurrency will be introduced by RBI.
Presently, cryptocurrency is unregulated in the country and RBI does not issue a cryptocurrency.
