GSMA Government Leadership Award 2023

• India received the GSMA Government Leadership Award 2023 at the GSMA’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023. The MWC was organized in Barcelona, Spain. The GSMA is an association that brings together mobile operators and key stakeholders in the global mobile industry. It represents more than 750 mobile operators and 400 companies. Each year GSMA recognises one country.
• The award recognized the Indian Government’s efforts in the development of the telecom sector. It also recognizes the regulatory mechanism policies targeting mobile connectivity. India is currently on the path of achieving the goal of national-level coverage of 5G network by the end of 2023. Currently, 387 districts across India have access to 5G services.
