Clarification on the recruitment of government jobs in the state will come on Thursday. Departments, posts, issuance of notifications related to them, other issues are likely to be advertised. The Cabinet meeting will be held at Pragati Bhavan on Thursday at 2 pm under the chairmanship of CM KCR. Authorities say it will make decisions on a number of key issues, including job recruitment.

65000 posts
On December 13 last year, CM KCR announced that steps would be taken to recruit for about 50,000 government posts in the state. It was also decided to give promotions to all eligible government employees and to identify and fill the new vacancies that may arise as a result. However, Promotions of employees, Presidential orders on locality, division of posts into district, zonal and multi-zonal cadres, identification of vacancies went on for a long time. The Finance Ministry has recently brought these issues to Kolkata and identified over 65,000 vacant posts.
The proposals are likely to be discussed at a cabinet meeting and approved, officials said. They said the decision could be taken to issue notifications simultaneously for the recruitment of 50,000 to 65,000 posts.
