The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Central Government offers a wide range of postgraduate diploma courses at various campuses across the country. In addition to its main campus in New Delhi, IIMC has campuses in Dhenkanal (Odisha), Aizawl (Mizoram), Amravati (Maharashtra), Kottayam (Kerala) and Jammu. These include PG Diploma in English Journalism, Hindi Journalism, Radio and TV Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, and other language courses.

Bachelor's degree holders in any field can apply for the courses offered by IIMC.

Selection process:
Those seeking admission in IIMC are required to qualify for the Entrance Test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

At the national level, the examination will be conducted for 100 marks in two sittings in a computer based system. The test time is two hours. Questions will be given from General Knowledge and General Aptitude.

There will be a question paper in English / Hindi on Advertising and Public Relations. There will also be an examination in Hindi / Urdu / Oriya / Malayalam depending on the language of choice for PG Diploma Journalism courses.
Examinations are conducted in two sittings on the same day. The four courses of PG Diploma in English, Hindi, PG Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising, PG Diploma in Radio and Television Journalism will be conducted from 10 am to 12 noon. Also regional languages Urdu / Oriya / Malayalam / Marathi will be tested from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Individuals will be tested on current developments / political and economic conditions nationally / internationally, as well as in a way that tests language ability.
