The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the deadline for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2024. This decision comes alongside the upcoming Mega DSC exam to fill 16,347 teacher vacancies.

Originally planned for August 5-20, the AP TET 2024 exams will now be held from October 3 to 20. This change is according to a revised notification issued recently. TET scores hold a 20% weightage in the final DSC selection process.

AP TET July 2024 - Exam Format:

  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only
  • Each question carries one mark
  • Four answer choices with one correct answer
  • No negative marking

AP TET July 2024 - Exam Papers:

  •  Two papers: Paper-I for classes I-V and Paper-II for classes VI-VIII
  • Candidates with both D.El.Ed and B.Ed can appear in both papers

  • Mathematics and Environmental Studies also have 24 content-based MCQs and 6 pedagogy-based MCQs each.
  • Detailed syllabus will be provided by SCERT along with the notification.
  • Recommended reference materials include current state syllabus and textbooks (Classes III-V), previous state syllabus and textbooks (Classes VI-X), and bilingual textbooks (Classes VI-IX).
  • Textbooks from 2016 and 2019 editions by D.Ed / D.El.Ed Telugu Academy/SCERT are recommended.

Paper-1B (Classes I-V in Special Schools):

  • Same format as Paper-IA (Multiple Choice Questions, 2 hours 30 minutes, 150 marks)
  • Content focus on teaching children with special needs
