AP Inter Board Tightens Measures to Ensure Fair Practical Exams!
Enhanced Surveillance with CCTV Monitoring
All Inter Practical exam centers will be equipped with CCTV cameras, and live footage will be connected to the Board's central office for real-time monitoring. The Board Secretary has instructed district officials to ensure exams are conducted under stringent supervision. Practical exams are scheduled to commence on February 3.
Addressing Allegations of Malpractice in Private Colleges
The decision comes in response to recurring complaints about malpractice in private colleges. Allegations include awarding marks without conducting proper practicals and instances of private colleges bribing government lecturers, assigned as invigilators, to manipulate marks. These practices have reportedly led to private college students scoring disproportionately higher marks compared to their counterparts in government colleges.
Focus on Fair Evaluation
This year, around 3,80,960 students will take the Intermediate Second Year exams, including 1,20,515 MPC (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) and 75,040 BiPC (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) students, all of whom have practical exams. While government colleges ensure hands-on practical sessions, many private colleges lack adequate laboratories and equipment, as reported by lecturers to the Board.
Action Against Erring Colleges
To curb such issues, the Board plans to review CCTV footage from suspected colleges and take strict action if malpractice is detected. Regular updates and daily reports have been mandated from all exam centers. These reports must detail the number of students attending and the practicals conducted. Additionally, lecturers assigned to a particular college in the past will be rotated to different colleges this year to prevent favoritism.
The Intermediate Board is determined to ensure transparency and fairness in practical exams. Officials are confident that these reforms will enhance the credibility of the evaluation process and address long-standing grievances.
