JEE Main 2024 Session-1 Analysis:

As per subject experts and feedback from the students, the overall difficulty level is generally considered as moderate.

  • Mathematics: Considered moderate to difficult by most students, with lengthy and calculation-heavy questions. The section had lengthy questions requiring strong application of concepts and calculations. Topics like Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Algebra, and Probability were prominent. Some found specific topics like 3D Geometry and Matrices slightly more challenging.
  • Physics: Mostly rated as easy to moderate, focusing on basic concepts and formula application. Questions were generally direct and formula-based, focusing on understanding rather than complex derivations. Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Electromagnetism were well-represented. Some students mentioned finding Optics and Modern Physics slightly trickier.
  • Chemistry: Largely described as easy to moderate, with a significant portion from Organic Chemistry. This section was considered relatively straightforward, with questions testing factual knowledge and basic applications. Organic Chemistry dominated, followed by Inorganic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry. Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, and Chemical Bonding were frequently tested.

The question paper adhered to the NCERT syllabus, emphasizing understanding over complex problem-solving. Time management was crucial due to the length of some questions, particularly in Mathematics. The overall impression suggests a focus on conceptual clarity and application of fundamental knowledge.
