Gurukul CET: Common Entrance Test for Integrated Gurukul Schools From 2025!
Until now, Gurukul Societies have conducted entrance tests for admissions to their schools and colleges based on students’ merit. Admissions were managed through counseling for all grades, with any remaining seats filled via spot admissions.
New Admission Process:
The government is now focusing on a new admission process for the integrated Gurukul schools being established. While the existing rules for regular Gurukul schools and colleges will remain unchanged, a separate entrance exam will be conducted for admissions to the integrated Gurukuls.

Implementation from 2025 Academic Year:

Current Practice: Each Gurukul Society currently conducts its own entrance test for admissions. Only for 5th grade is there a common entrance test for SC, ST, BC, and General Gurukuls, with admissions based on the society chosen by the student during application.

Future Plan: A unified entrance test will be introduced for all integrated Gurukul schools. Admissions for backlogs in grades 6, 7, and 8, as well as first-year Intermediate and Degree courses, will also be conducted through a common process.
First Phase Implementation:
- The government plans to establish 30 integrated Gurukul schools in 30 Assembly constituencies across the state.
- District collectors have been directed to provide information on land availability and other facilities, with some already submitting comprehensive reports.
- Each integrated Gurukul will be constructed on a minimum of 20 acres of land and will house SC, ST, BC, and Minority Gurukul schools.
Timeline:
- A special committee, led by the state’s Chief Secretary, has been formed to oversee the establishment of these integrated Gurukuls.
- The committee has set a one-month deadline for the design phase, which is reportedly already completed.
- The government is expediting efforts to make these integrated Gurukul schools operational by the next academic year.
