JNPA Sets New Record for Container Throughput!

Mumbai's Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) achieved a historic milestone in the 2023-24 fiscal year! Let's break down the good news:

Highest Throughput Ever: JNPA handled a record-breaking 6.43 million TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units), surpassing the previous record of 6.05 million TEUs set in 2022-23. This represents a significant 6.27% increase.
Overall Traffic Up: JNPA also saw a 2.33% rise in total traffic compared to the previous year, reaching 85.82 million tonnes. This includes both container traffic (78.13 million tonnes) and bulk cargo (7.70 million tonnes).
Strong Performance Across Terminals: All container terminals at JNPA contributed to this success. Here's a breakdown:

  • BMCT: 2.03 million TEUs
  • APMT: 1.59 million TEUs
  • NSICT: 1.13 million TEUs
  • NSIGT: 1.11 million TEUs
  • NSFT: 0.56 million TEUs
  • NSDT: 7,978 TEUs
