Agricultural Sciences
From Diploma to PhD, many agricultural courses are available now. There is a growing interest among students in Diploma in Agriculture courses, especially after tenth class. Andhra Pradesh is recognizing the two-year Agri-Diploma courses, equivalent to the Intermediate.
Diploma in Agricultural Science
It is possible to join Agricultural Science courses with tenth qualification. Eligibility for admission in Diploma in Agricultural Science in particular is Class X. Currently, the Agricultural Universities in the Telugu States (ANGRAU-AP, PJTSAU-Telangana) offer two-year and three-year Diploma in Agriculture and allied courses. Mainly Diploma in Agriculture; Seed Technology, Organic Farming, Agriculture Engineering and Technology courses are available. Of these, the duration of the Agriculture Engineering and Technology course is three years. The duration of the other three diploma courses is two years.
If you want to enter Diploma in Agricultural Science in Andhra Pradesh, you have to qualify in RGUKT-CET (AP Triple IT Entrance Test). After that Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University will conduct special counseling. RGUKT-CET will fill the seats based on merit and applications. In fact, until 2019–20, ANGRAU will fill the seats in diploma courses with its own entrance test. Admission is by 2020 through RGUKT-SET. Currently in AP, more than 600 seats are available in Diploma courses in Government Polytechnics for a period of two years and three years and over three thousand seats are available in Private Polytechnics.
Diploma in Agriculture, Diploma in Agricultural Engineering, Diploma in Seed Technology, Diploma in Organic Agriculture courses are also available in Telangana. Based on the rank in the Polytechnic (Polytechnic Common Entrance Test) in Telangana .. Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University is conducting special counseling and giving admission. There are about 250 seats available in the polytechnics under the University and over 600 seats in the affiliated private polytechnics.

Bachelor's degree courses
Many bachelor's degree courses in Agricultural Science are available in AP. B. Sc Agriculture Science (Hons) course, B. Tech Food Technology, B. Tech Agricultural Engineering, B. Sc (Hons) Community Science courses are available in AP. The duration of these courses is four years. In order to join these courses, one has to pass in EAMCET. Rank in EAMCET- MPC Engineering stream will fetch you a seat in B. Tech Agricultural Engineering. Students of Agricultural Diploma Courses will be given admission to B. Sc (Hons) course by conducting special entrance (Agri-CET). Ten per cent of the total seats will be allotted to diploma passers. Those who have completed Diploma in Agriculture / Seed Technology, Organic Farming are eligible for this. Seats will be filled in B. Sc (Hons) Agriculture, B. Tech – Food Technology, B. Tech – Agriculture Engineering, BSc (Hons) –Community Science courses through own entrance test under the name of Agri Engineering CET. Fifteen per cent seats in addition to the total seats in B. Tech Agricultural Engineering will be made available for graduates in Diploma in Agricultural Engineering and Technology. Similarly, ten per cent supernumerary seats will be available for B. Sc (Hons) - Diploma in Community Science Diploma in Food Home Science students.
B. Sc (Hons) Agriculture, B. Tech Agriculture Engineering, B. Tech Food Technology, B. Sc (Hons) Community Science courses are available at Bachelor level in Telangana. Admission to these,is through TS EAMCET. For those who have completed Agricultural and Allied Diploma Courses, Agri CET, Agri Engineering CETwill be conducted.

Specializations in PG, PhD
The respective colleges offer various specializations at the postgraduate and PhD level in higher education for those who have completed Bachelor's degree with Agricultural Science courses. Prior to entering these, one has to get rank in the ICAR- All India Competitive Examination (AICE) conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at the national level. Students who have passed this entrance test will be allotted seats on the basis of merit if they attend the next stage of counseling conducted by the Agricultural Universities themselves.
Currently M.Sc (Agriculture), MBA (Agri Business Management), M. Tech (Agriculture Engineering), M.Sc (Home Science) are available at PG level for a period of two years. These include Plant Sciences, Physical Sciences, Plant Biotechnology, Entomology and Nematology, Agronomy, Social Sciences (Agriculture Economics, Agriculture Extension), Statistical Sciences (Specialization) in M. Sc Agriculture.
In M. Tech in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Engineering and Technology, one can join Soil and Water Engineering, Processing and Food Engineering, Farm Machinery and Power Engineering.
It is possible to do research in many disciplines at the PhD level. Genetics and plant breeding, plant pathology, Entomology, Crop Physiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Agricultural Microbiology, agronomy, Soil Science, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Soil and Water Engineering, Processing and Food Engineering, Farm Machinery and Power Engineering PhD are available. Candidates are required to complete PG with specialization in the field of their choice to join PhD and pass the JRF / SRF Entrance Test conducted by ICAR.
There is also an opportunity to step into IIMs, which are recognized as prestigious management institutes in the country, for agricultural courses. Food and Agri Business Management- PG Program and Agri Business Management Program are available at IIM-Ahmedabad, Lucknow Campuses. Admission to these is based on passing the CAT.
