AP DSC 2024 Notification: Candidates Protest to Increase No. of Posts!

Sakshi Education: The much-awaited AP DSC (District Selection Committee) notification is expected to be released on November 6th.

However, after promising a large-scale recruitment drive during the election campaign, the current government has announced that only 16,347 teacher posts will be filled, combining around 6,100 posts previously notified by the YSR government and a few additional posts. Current AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who signed off on this DSC file, is now being accused of disappointing unemployed youth with this limited recruitment drive. Candidates are expressing their frustration, claiming that this is a "mini DSC" and does not meet their expectations for a "mega DSC."

Demand for More Posts in DSC:

Candidates are protesting, demanding an increase in the number of posts in the AP DSC notification. In Anantapur district alone, nearly 30,000 candidates are expected to compete for SGT (Secondary Grade Teacher) posts, yet the number of available positions is minimal. This pattern repeats across Andhra Pradesh, increasing competition to an intense level. Candidates from various districts are calling for a substantial increase in the number of posts in this recruitment notification.

Mass Rally by Candidates:

On November 4, a large group of candidates held a rally from Anantapur Arts College to the District Collectorate, demanding more posts. They staged a sit-in protest at the Collectorate, causing traffic disruptions. When police asked them to clear the area, candidates engaged in heated arguments, insisting that their concerns be addressed. The protest was led by AIYF district secretary Santosh Kumar, DYFI district president Noorulla, and DSC candidates like Mujib and Ramu, among others.

In response, the DRO (District Revenue Officer) arrived to hear their concerns. The DSC candidates presented a memorandum, requesting that the government consider their demands.

Only 181 SGT Posts for Anantapur District:

Candidates criticized the government for allocating only 181 SGT posts for Anantapur district, leaving thousands of unemployed youths disappointed. They demanded at least 1,000 SGT posts to be allocated, taking into account the future of unemployed youth. They also called for the cancellation of GO 117 and the appointment of assistant teachers in single-teacher schools. Additionally, they requested a standardized exam paper across the district.
